26.7. to 31.7.1996: “Festspielwerkstatt der Jugend”. In this 5-day seminar, 40 young people from all of Austria work on approaches to the opera “The Rake’s Progress” by Igor Stravinsky, which is visited together on the last night.
30.8. to 1.9.1996: “Festspielbesuch der Jugend” for 100 young people including orchestral concert at Großes Festspielhaus with Arnold Schönberg’s “Variationen für Orchester op. 31" and Bruckner’s 5th Symphony (conductor: Riccardo Chailly), opera performance of “Moses und Aron” by Arnold Schönberg (conductor: Pierre Boulez, director: Peter Stein).
